Build your career in technology. Make a difference in education.

We're looking for a Technology Support Officer (TSO) to join our East Technology team, based at Lift Greensward and supporting schools across Essex.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career in IT while making a real difference in schools. You'll join a supportive team that values curiosity, collaboration and continuous learning.

If you enjoy solving problems, supporting people and want to build your skills in education technology, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role
This is a hands-on, people-facing role where you'll work closely with colleagues and students to ensure technology genuinely supports teaching, learning and day-to-day school life.

You'll be based primarily at Lift Greensward, with frequent travel to nearby schools including Lift Ashingdon, Lift Plumberow, Lift Hockley, Lift Westerings and Lift Pioneer.

You'll work closely with a local team of technology colleagues and be supported by the wider central Technology network across Lift Schools.

A reasonable commute to Lift Greensward is important, as the role involves regular on-site support across the schools.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing frontline IT support to colleagues and students, helping them use technology confidently and effectively
  • Supporting the setup, rollout and refresh of devices such as laptops, Chromebooks, iPads and classroom technology
  • Troubleshooting issues and working closely with the wider Technology team to resolve them
  • Supporting staff induction and training, sharing clear guidance and practical support
  • Helping maintain reliable, secure systems across multiple school sites
  • Contributing to projects that improve how technology is used across our schools, including promoting our innovative AI Strategy

This role could be a great fit if you:

  • Enjoy working with people and explaining technical issues clearly and calmly
  • Are curious, keen to learn and motivated to develop your skills
  • Are a team player who enjoys sharing ideas and learning from others
  • Have experience in an IT support, technician or service-desk style role
  • Have experience inducting or training colleagues in IT or systems
  • Have some exposure to education or EdTech

Formal qualifications and experience in a school or education setting are helpful but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, potential and commitment to learning.

Development and progression
We know retention matters. That's why we invest in our people.

In this role, you'll benefit from a clear development pathway, including opportunities to work towards industry-recognised certifications such as Google, ViewSonic, and Canva. You'll be supported by a strong local team and a wider network of like-minded colleagues who share best practice, support one another and learn together. We also offer a generous benefits package, including pension, lifestyle savings, retail discounts and wellbeing support.
