Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity available for a full time B7 permanent position within a passionate and dedicated Head and Neck Cancer Clinical Nurse specialist team.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Band 7 nurse to join our team who will be committed to work collaboratively with our Head and Neck Cancer Multi disciplinary Team professionals . The current team are based in Bristol Dental Hospital, delivering high standards of person centered care across University Hospital Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust and the community.
The post holder will provide a holistic, patient focused service delivering evidence-based care, information and advice to patients with head & neck cancer, supporting them and their families throughout diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
Ideally the post holder would have a significant experience in providing resource in the care of patients with specialist care needs, including the management of Tracheostomy and Laryngectomy care, Complex wounds, and Chemotherapy.
Act as key worker when appropriate and utilise expert clinical knowledge to provide comprehensive specialist advice, information and psychological support to patients with a diagnosis of head & neck cancer.
The post holder will acknowledge and provide the overall responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families, in-patient and out-patient, throughout the care pathway. The post holder will develop, establish and integrate this specialist service and be responsible for the provision of specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families, in-patient and out-patient, throughout the care pathway.
They will work closely within secondary and primary care to ensure a co-ordinated quality service and will be actively involved in education, audit and research.
