The post holder will:
• Apply strong analytical and technical skills to interpret healthcare data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to support operational decision-making across the Trust.
• Design, develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI, ensuring outputs are accurate, validated and meet shareholders requirements.
• Support the automation of reporting processes to reduce manual workload, improve data quality and enhance efficiency.
• Undertake data interrogation and data linking activities, analysing large datasets from multiple clinical systems and the data warehouse to produce reliable reports.
• Act as a motivated professional, combining great communication and analytical skills to support service improvement initiatives.
This role requires experience in the development and maintenance of reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, with the ability to analyse and present data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. The post holder should have good knowledge of T-SQL, including querying, joining and aggregating complex datasets. They should have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines as well as the ability to work independently within agreed objectives, seeking guidance where required.
The focus and duties of this role will grow and evolve to reflect the changing needs of the Trust.
· Support the development, maintenance and documentation of data extracts from Trust Clinical Systems and Data Warehouse.
· Manage and prioritise a number of concurrent projects of varying scale and complexity, working independently within agreed objectives and escalating issues where appropriate.
· Analyse and present complex or sensitive information in a clear and accessible format suitable for shareholders without an informatics background.
· Build effective working relationships with shareholders to understand reporting requirements and support the delivery of appropriate analytical solutions.
· Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of analytical methods and reporting processes, promoting consistency and good practice within the team.
· Provide analytical advice to colleagues within our team, department and wide-Trust.
· Identify data quality issues and work collaboratively with relevant teams to support resolution and improvement.
· Contribute to team objectives, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues where appropriate.
· Ensure compliance with Information Governance, Data Protection legislation and Trust policies in all analytical outputs and data handling activities.

· Analyse and interpret complex datasets to identify trends and risks, presenting findings through automated reports and dashboards to support operational decision-making.
· Contribute to project work within the team, supporting delivery across different data systems and managing own workload across multiple assignments.
· Work on own initiative to meet deadlines, prioritising competing demands and escalating issues where appropriate.
· Exercise judgement when interpreting data, selecting appropriate methodologies and analytical approaches within agreed frameworks and guidance.
· Undertake quality assurance checks on reports, dashboards and scripts to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability of outputs.
· Investigate data quality issues, identifying root causes and working with relevant teams to support corrective action.
· Contribute to the development and improvement of reporting processes to meet internal and external Data Assurance and Information Governance requirements.
· Support the enhancement of existing analysis and reporting streams, identifying opportunities for improvement and automation.

· Represent Analytics Engineering at meetings as required, presenting analytical findings clearly and professionally, escalating strategic or high-risk matters to senior colleagues where appropriate.
· Contribute to meetings with shareholders, supporting discussions, clarifying reporting requirements and agreeing actions relevant to own areas of work.
· Demonstrate initiative and autonomy in managing allocated assignments and projects, working within agreed objectives and professional boundaries.
· Prioritise own workload effectively, balancing competing demands and seeking guidance where necessary to ensure delivery against team and service objectives.
· Manage own work to meet tight and sometimes changing deadlines, ensuring outputs are completed to a high standard and any risks to delivery are communicated in a timely manner.
· Provide cross-cover for colleagues during periods of reduced capacity (e.g. annual leave or sickness), as appropriate to the role and grade, under the direction of theAnalyticsEngineering Manager.

· Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues across Performance & Information, Digital Services and operational teams.
· Contribute to meetings and working groups as required, providing analytical input and supporting the delivery of team objectives.
· Present analytical information to clinical, operational and managerial audiences in a clear and accessible manner, adapting communication style to suit different stakeholders.
· Explain technical concepts, data definitions, assumptions and limitations to non-technical stakeholders to support understanding and appropriate use of reports and dashboards.
· Escalate significant risks, issues or conflicting priorities to senior colleagues in a timely manner.
· Promote a professional, open and collaborative approach in all communications within the team and across the wider Trust.
Governance and Data Assurance
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure adherence to established governance arrangements, performance management processes and data standards within the team and wider Trust.
· Support the appropriate handling of incidents, data breaches or complaints in line with Trust policies, contributing to reviews and implementing agreed actions to improve processes and prevent recurrence.
· Develop, maintain and document appropriate plans for reports, dashboards and data extracts, ensuring outputs are validated, auditable and fit for purpose both at implementation and through periodic review.
· Monitor data outputs for accuracy and consistency, identifying anomalies and escalating concerns in a timely manner.
· Ensure all work complies with Information Governance requirements, Data Protection legislation and Trust policies, including when working remotely.
