Our Pharmacy department at Guildford Hospital currently have a opportunity for a pharmacy assistant .
Working with leading consultants, we offer a wide range of complex surgery, and services for preventing, diagnosing and treating many medical conditions. Our fifty room ward provides care for patients undergoing a range of operations and procedures. In addition, we provide inpatient palliative care and also have four acute dependency beds to support the needs of higher dependency patients. The working atmosphere is highly professional, yet friendly and collaborative. Easily accessible from the A3 or M25, we're about 1.5 miles from the town center.

The opportunity

Within the hospital the pharmacy department. As our Pharmacy Assistant you will:

To monitor stock levels within the Pharmacy department to maintain appropriate stock levels
-
To assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems

To receive goods in appropriately checking against purchase orders/delivery notes, dealing with issues/anomalies as they arise and escalating appropriately

To review invoice queries as appropriate
-
To assist in the dispensing of medicines accurately selecting the correct quantity of medicine required and assembling, labelling and processing them in a safe, efficient and timely manner
The person

To succeed as a pharmacy assistant, you will need:

Good standard of general education, with proven literacy and numeracy.

Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills / GPhC recognised equivalent qualification or ability to work towards a qualification which would be commenced within 3 months of employment and completed within an agreed timescale

Some experience within a pharmacy environment or healthcare background
