About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assistant to join us. As an Optical Assistant, the successful candidate will independently run your own clinics by performing diagnostic tests on the patients, providing high quality, easily accessible ophthalmology care in the area.

Our diagnostic tests include, 2D and 3D scans of the back of the eye, taking measurements of the eye pressure, checking patients’ peripheral visions, and checking their visions on the reading charts. The successful candidate will have full training with our clinical team on all aspects of the role.

Once trained you will be able too:
• Independently run pre- and post-operative diagnostic clinics
• Support patients throughout their journey with CHEC and report any concerns.
• Prepare all areas, and documents prior to your clinics
• Pre-examination diagnostics, such as Intraocular pressures, OCT scans and
visual acuities
• Instilling Eyedrops
• Blood Pressure monitoring
• Temperature testing
• Blood glucose Monitoring
• Support hospital diagnostic clinics as and when required

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt and problem solve
• Desire and willingness to develop in line with the framework and your personal

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and other systems
• The ability to learn and adapt to new internal systems
• Self-motivated and self-starter with the ability to prioritise and schedule work
independently
• Approachable and friendly manner to welcome our patients into the clinic
