French Teacher – Part-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting April 2026

Leaders work collaboratively with teachers to uphold strong expectations, helping pupils feel safe, motivated, and confident. Pupils respond well to purposeful language learning that promotes curiosity, cultural awareness, and steady academic progress.

Duties as French Teacher:

  • Teach French part time across relevant secondary year groups
  • Deliver engaging lessons using established curriculum plans
  • Support pupils in developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
  • Adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
  • Maintain consistent behaviour expectations and a positive classroom climate
  • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute to departmental planning and collaborative practice
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal French Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching French
  • Confident teaching at KS3 and KS4 levels
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities
  • Able to motivate and support mixed‑ability learners
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to high‑quality language teaching
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
