Summary
Based in Cambridge, we are looking to recruit a Primary Teacher / Key Stage Lead for our excellent outstanding SEN school.
Location : Cambridge
Hours : Full time – term time only
Salary : £35000 - £48000 per annum depending on experience
Main Duties:
• Be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum to a small class of pupils (no more than 10)
• To take into consideration a range of curriculum approaches and specialist programmes so that the full needs of the learners are met.
• To organise the classroom, its resources, pupil groupings and displays in order to provide a stimulating learning environment.
• To share in the writing, evaluation and updating of pupil’s individual education plans and individual behaviour plans and contribute to termly and annual reports
• Adhere to the school planning and record keeping systems and submit them for monitoring purposes on request.
• To contribute to the recording of events and progress.
• To manage and direct the support staff working within lessons.
• Promote good communications with parents via home-school books, telephone calls and meetings.
• To work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, liaising with the Pastoral Manager, Key Stage Leads, School Leadership Team and Therapists as appropriate.
• Keep up to date with developments in education, particularly related to ASC.
• Adhere to all school policies and procedures and contribute to these in areas of responsibility.
• Ensure regular completion and accuracy of
o Incident Forms
o Bullying Logs
o Prejudice Logs
• Be responsible for ensuring the completion, accuracy, quality and delivery of the end of term reports to parents, including up to date and accurate progress data
• Check all Health and Safety Risk Assessments for Key Stage trips and outings for detail and accuracy
• Establish regular Key Stage meetings to track and monitor:
o Timetabling issues
o Curriculum
o Teaching and Learning matters
o Staffing and Learner Matters
• Organise Parents’ Evenings
• Organise the Assembly rota, including external speakers and members of SLT, and disseminate any topics for delivery to relevant staff and learner groups
• Organise any other meetings relevant to Key Stage for learners, parents and staff where deemed necessary
• Provide regular staff supervision meetings for those you line manage, together with an annual appraisal
• Participate in the school’s Lesson Observation Schedule, providing feedback to teachers on lessons delivered in the relevant Key Stage
Person Spec
• Qualified Teacher Status.
• A good honours degree or equivalent
• Experience of working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs
The position is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
