Summary

Join Our Team at Joyful Star Nursery!
Salary: £29,120 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am-6:30pm (40 hours per week)
Location: Bermondsey, SE16

Joyful Star Nursery is a small, welcoming setting caring for up to 20 children aged 2–5 years. We are seeking a confident and experienced Room Leader who is passionate about early years education and ready to take real ownership of their room within a supportive and professional team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading a team, shaping practice, and creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
• Minimum Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification
• At least 1 years’ experience leading a room or team in a nursery or early years setting
• Confident in leading a small team and supporting staff development
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to use initiative
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and experience in planning and monitoring children’s learning and development
• A positive, team-focused attitude with a genuine love for working with children

Your Responsibilities:
• Leading and supporting the team to provide high-quality care and education
• Overseeing the planning and delivery of daily activities in line with the nursery’s curriculum and the EYFS framework
• Acting as Key Person, maintaining accurate learning and development records
• Ensuring the environment is safe, welcoming, and meets all health and safety requirements
• Contributing to wider nursery development and continuous improvement
