We are committed to building a diverse workforce and will consider all applicants.

In this role, you will:
• Design and own the internal communications strategy aligned to corporate objectives (member-focused, regulated environment, operational change).
• Plan annual and quarterly internal communications calendars tied to business priorities (product launches, regulatory updates, strategy refresh, branch and colleague programmes).
• Produce high-quality content: leadership messages, intranet features, all-staff emails, Q&As, briefing packs, newsletters, video scripts, and campaign copy.
• Manage and optimise internal channels (intranet, Teams channels, email, digital/physical signage) to maximise reach and engagement.
• Oversee simple production tasks (basic editing, video captioning, layout work) and coordinate with external suppliers for larger assets.
• Lead communications for business change programmes (BCP, system migrations, process change), including stakeholder mapping, comms plans, FAQs and feedback loops.
• Design colleague engagement activity (town-halls, leader roadshows, drop-in events) and work across the business to embed messages.
• Act as first-line PR lead for issues that influence internal audiences and the Society’s reputation; draft external statements, social media responses, and media briefings for sign-off in conjunction with our appointed PR agency.

What you will bring:
• At least 2 years’ experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or PR; ideally with some experience in regulated financial services or comparable sectors.
• Proven experience planning and delivering communications and colleague engagement programmes.
• Comfortable drafting clear senior leader copy and media lines under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to accuracy and tone.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

What you can expect from us:
• 27 days holidays, plus Bank Holidays, Birthday Holiday, Celebration Day, Moving House Day.
• Competitive pension with up to 10% employer contribution.
• A comprehensive benefit package.
