The Corporate Complaints and Scrutiny team is supportive, welcoming and works with real purpose. We work closely with colleagues and councillors across the organisation, acting as the trusted, impartial voice that helps to strengthen fairness, transparency and confidence in our democratic and governance processes. We combine insight from complaints and scrutiny to drive learning, improve services and ensure residents’ experiences shape better decision making across the council.
Key responsibilities…
Provide operational support across corporate complaints and scrutiny functions, ensuring work is prioritised effectively and deadlines are met.
Support complex complaint investigations by collating evidence, liaising with officers and residents, drafting clear responses and coordinating responses to complaints escalated to the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman (LGCSO).
Support the planning and delivery of meetings of the Overview & Scrutiny Commission and Panel meetings, including agenda management, report publication, attendance at meetings and follow-up of actions.
Provide officer support for task and finish reviews, including research, evidence collation, data analysis and co-ordinating witness attendance (including residents and community partners), and contribute to drafting review reports and recommendations.
Produce and maintain accurate complaints and scrutiny data to support reporting and analysis, identifying trends and supporting service improvement and influencing policy

Interviews will be held on 21 April 2026 (22 April 2026 reserved).
