An established groundworks and civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. The company specialises in delivering groundwork and infrastructure packages for residential and commercial developments across the Midlands and surrounding regions, with a strong reputation for quality and reliability.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + car allowance + package

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple groundwork and infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in accordance with contractual requirements. This position will involve close collaboration with project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the commercial performance of groundwork and civil engineering projects
- Preparing valuations, cost reports, and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs and budgets to maintain profitability
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and variations
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
- Supporting project teams with cost planning and financial forecasting
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and site teams to ensure effective project delivery
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
Requirements:
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Management
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of groundwork packages on residential developments
- Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, variations, and cost reporting
- Good knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
