The Minor Works Team Leader is responsible for mentoring & leading a team of highly skilled Minor Works Technicians, ensuring the successful delivery of small-scale construction, maintenance, and refurbishment projects across various client sites. This role combines operational leadership, project coordination, and client engagement to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead, support, and develop a team of Minor Works Technicians across multiple trades.
- Oversee the planning and execution of minor works projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Review and approve technician-generated quotes, ensuring accuracy, profitability, and alignment with CDM principles.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to liaise with clients, building trust and securing future work opportunities.
- Support the creation of Construction Phase Plans and attend pre-start meetings.
- Act as designated supervisor on-site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Coordinate and oversee technicians and engineers from other departments working on joint projects.
- Monitor and audit health and safety practices, training, and accreditation across the team.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in supervising multi-trade teams within construction or building maintenance.
- Strong understanding of CDM regulations and health & safety compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to review and support quote generation.
- Full UK driving licence.
- NVQ or equivalent qualification in a building trade.
- Certifications: CAT Scanner, IPAF, PASMA, Banksman.
- Additional qualifications in plumbing, electrical, or plant operation (e.g., Excavator/Dumper).
- Experience in client-facing roles and project coordination.
Working Pattern:
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Occasional out-of-hours work (paid at overtime rates)
