Are you motivated by the opportunity to support, challenge and inspire others to achieve the very best outcomes for young children?
As part of our continued commitment to investing in early years provision across Bridgend, we are strengthening the capacity of our Early Years and Childcare Team. We are therefore delighted to offer two exciting opportunities to join our well-regarded team of advisors and childcare development officers.
This expansion reflects our local ambition to enhance the quality, consistency and impact of the support, challenge, guidance and professional learning we provide to settings and schools. This role offers a genuine opportunity to shape practice and improve outcomes for young children across the county borough.
About the role
As an Early Years Education and Care Advisor, you will:
Support, challenge and guide leaders and practitioners to secure high-quality outcomes for young learners

A strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance is essential, including:
National Minimum Standards
Curriculum and assessment arrangements for Funded Non-Maintained Settings

CIW and Estyn inspection frameworks
You will bring substantial experience of delivering high-quality early years education, including supporting children with emerging needs and Additional Learning Needs (ALN). You will also be able to clearly evidence the positive impact of your leadership on the professional development and practice of colleagues.
Excellent communication skills are key, alongside diplomacy, credibility and approachability, as the role requires building strong, trusting professional relationships while maintaining appropriate challenge.
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in:
Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
Welsh language skills and supporting bilingual development
The teaching and development of early literacy
If you bring strength in one or more of these areas, we would especially welcome your application.
