Greater Manchester has made history as the first area outside London in almost 40 years to bring all local bus services under local control. As we continue this ambitious transformation, we are building a forwardthinking, sustainable transport system for our residents.
We are now transitioning our circa 1,700vehicle Bee Network fleet towards full zeroemission operation!

Your Role
As a Zero Emission Fleet Specialist, you will take a leading role in developing and delivering a bestpractice fleet management strategy for the Bee Network’s zeroemission fleet. You will help shape how Greater Manchester achieves its commitment to a fully zeroemission bus fleet by 2030.
You will:
- Lead the development and implementation of the zeroemission fleet strategy.
- Provide seniorlevel technical expertise on zeroemission technologies, infrastructure and fleet operations.
- Work collaboratively across TfGM and with operators to ensure safe, efficient and costeffective fleet performance.
- Monitor contractual and performance indicators across multiple franchises, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Influence strategic decisions using highquality analysis, reports and insights.
- Build strong relationships with key partners, suppliers and stakeholders to support a coordinated approach to zeroemission delivery.

What you’ll bring

You will have a proven track record in the effective fleet management of a large-scale bus fleet, with experience in developing and delivering a strategy to ensure the entire life cycle of the Bee Network Bus Fleet is considered from introduction through to disposal.
You will have the ability to effectively monitor the delivery of franchise contractual deliverables and obligations across multiple franchises and communicate this with the bus franchisees to ensure compliance whilst identifying areas for continuous improvement.

This is a permanent role with a salary of £75,370 - £84,830 depending on skills and experience. Please note that these salary ranges are effective from the 1st of April 2026.
