Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Category Manager to lead strategic procurement, supplier relationship management, and contract management for a defined sub-group of ITC categories. The role focuses on delivering value, cost efficiencies, and risk mitigation in line with business objectives.
This position requires strong public procurement experience, and knowledge of MOD or public sector contracts.
Key Accountabilities

Develop and implement Category Strategies for assigned sub-groups, balancing short- and long-term objectives with stakeholder requirements.

Lead complex strategic sourcing activities, including RFx execution, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, award, and handover, ensuring compliance with client policies and ethical standards.

Manage contracts and commercial activities, providing assurance of value delivery.

Execute Supplier Relationship Management, including supplier segmentation, risk identification, mitigation, and performance management.

Participate in external supplier reviews (MBRs/EBRs) and contribute to category development and business intelligence.

Support the Process and Performance team and interface with the Service Centre.
Essential Criteria

5+ years' Public Procurement experience, including negotiation and cost analysis.

Supplier Relationship Management: ability to influence and deliver.

Stakeholder Management across multiple levels.

Experience managing contracts of similar scale.

Knowledge of MOD or public sector (3+ years preferred).

Experience in competitive flexible procurement on PA23.

Open framework experience.
Desirable Criteria

ERP experience.

IT background.

Experience integrating systems such as SAP.
