Summary

Trees Officer needed in Bovey Tracey, £20.29ph PAYE - Reference: 5292568

22.2 hours per week (3 days) – we would consider 2 - 4 days per week (7 hour day)
Initially for 6 months - will need to attend the office at least 1 day a week

You will ideally have -

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and policy related to trees, hedgerows and conservation areas
  • Knowledge and experience for making, confirming and reviewing Tree Preservation Orders
  • Experience of The Hedgerow Regulations, including determining Hedgerow removal notices
  • Experience in tree inspections

  1. To deliver the Authority’s statutory duties for trees, including all matters relating to Tree Preservation Orders, trees standing within Conservation Areas, and Hedgerow Regulations.
  1. To co-ordinate and contribute to the Authority’s responses to forestry consultations in line with NPA policy and to support the Authority’s response on trees, woodlands policy at regional or national level as appropriate.
  1. To contribute to the delivery of the Authority’s Business Plan including performance targets, service standards and cross-cutting projects.
  1. To provide advice to the Authority on development management issues involving trees, woodlands.
  1. To contribute specialist knowledge and skills to all areas of the Authority’s work, including policy development, and relevant strategies.
  1. To provide advice on the management of trees and woodland owned by the Authority and managed under legal agreement including advice on practical works to be undertaken.
  1. To work safely, ensuring all safety procedures and other controls identified by risk assessment are complied with and incidents reported promptly and appropriately.

This is a part time role on a temporary contract basis
