Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Neuro Imaging to join our friendly and forward‑thinking team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

Applicants must hold a current GMC Licence to Practise. It is essential that candidates are either listed on the General Medical Council Specialist Register or are within six months of achieving CCT (for trainees currently in a UK training programme). Applicants who are not yet on the Specialist Register but can clearly demonstrate equivalent consultant‑level experience in chest and cardiac imaging will also be considered for this post.

We are recruiting a Consultant Radiologist with expertise in Neuro imaging to join our supportive and forward‑thinking Radiology team, delivering elective and emergency imaging services across Calderdale and Huddersfield.

The successful candidate will provide high‑quality Neuro imaging interpretation across CT and MRI. They will vet and report specialist scans, offer second opinions, participate in MDTs, and work flexibly across sites while maintaining competence in general imaging.

The role includes participation in the on‑call rota, contribution to departmental functions such as education, audit, and modality groups, and adherence to Trust clinical governance and health and safety standards. The post also involves teaching, supervising trainees from the Leeds‑Bradford Radiology Academy, and engaging in research, audit, and service evaluation to support evidence‑based practice.

CHFT is an integrated Trust of 6,500+ colleagues providing hospital and community services to patients and communities across Calderdale and Kirklees. We are rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission, are a top performing Trust for Elective Recovery, Emergency and Cancer Care and widely acknowledged as a national digital lead when it comes to caring for people across our local and regional systems.

Our people are at the core of everything we do, hence our commitment to One Culture of Care. Our focus is to care for and support each other in order to provide outstanding compassionate care to our patients. That is why we are looking for an inclusive collaborative, creative, innovative and compassionate leader to join us in this role.

The role includes active involvement in MDTs, cross-specialty collaboration, and opportunities to contribute to education, audit, research, and departmental leadership roles.

A strong commitment to clinical governance, quality assurance, peer review, and adherence to Trust safety policies is essential, as is participation in maintaining accreditation under the Quality Standard for Imaging.
