About the Team

The Safeguarding Team is part of the Assurance and Compliance Directorate and works in collaboration with operational teams, schools and services to build exemplary safeguarding practices for autistic people who access our services. The team ensures regulatory and legislative compliance, along with supporting to build a culture where the individual is at the forefront of safeguarding decisions.

About the Role

This role provides operational safeguarding leadership across all directorates including schools, adult services and national programmes, ensuring children and adults at risk are protected through strong safeguarding arrangements and compliant, high-quality practice. You will support leaders across the UK, offering expert guidance on complex safeguarding cases, statutory requirements and multi-agency processes. The role leads on developing and reviewing safeguarding policies, data analysis and actions, undertaking safeguarding site visits, supporting safeguarding processes, ensuring training needs are identified and responded to.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure safeguarding arrangements across all directorates are effectively supported, implemented, and compliant with statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Lead on identifying, developing and reviewing safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring updates are effectively communicated to relevant leaders and managers.
  • Provide advice for safeguarding concerns and support colleagues in their engagement with local statutory safeguarding partners.
  • Lead and support in complex safeguarding cases, ensuring safeguarding practice is person-centred.
  • Collate and Analyse data to support identifying themes, trends and learning.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead practitioner or equivalent or as an operational lead within a regulated environment with safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Experience working in multi-agency safeguarding contexts involving and children and / or adults.
  • Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory frameworks for safeguarding adults and children across all four nations.

This advert is for a full-time position at 35 Hours per week between 9am and 5pm.

This role is Homebased based with a requirement to travel nationally.
