We are currently seeking a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for an Alternative Provision based in the NG18 area. As the new Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both pupils and teaching staff, with the confidence to lead whole-class sessions independently when required. In this role, you will be working with pupils across KS2, KS3, and KS4, supporting a range of learning needs and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons to individuals and small groups of 4-5 learners
- Lead whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher
- Assess, record and report on pupil progress, achievement and development
- Deliver targeted interventions to support pupils with SEND and vulnerable students
- Supervise and mentor junior teaching assistants and support staff
- Assist with lesson planning and adapt learning activities to meet diverse needs
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Someone who holds HLTA status or has significant experience working at HLTA level.
- You will have excellent communication skills, strong behaviour management strategies and the confidence to take initiative in a busy school environment.
- A genuine commitment to a long-term role is essential, as this position offers stability and the opportunity to grow within the setting.
