Summary

Start your career in Housing Repairs Planning and Compliance with a team that will support your development every step of the way.

We are looking for an Apprentice Planning Compliance Officer to join our Planning Compliance team within Platform Property Care, based in Worcester.

Are you organised, curious, and ready to build a rewarding career ensuring homes are safe and compliant?

Do you want to earn a recognised qualification while working for one of the Midlands' leading social housing providers?

Join Platform Housing Group as an Apprentice Planning Compliance Officer and take the first step toward a successful, long‑term career.

Platform Housing Group is one of the largest social housing associations in the Midlands, providing over 50,000 homes to more than 120,000 customers. We are committed to delivering excellent services and investing in our people, places, and communities.

What you'll be doing

As an Apprentice Planning Compliance Officer, you will support the Planning Compliance Officer and wider Planning Team to help ensure all our homes remain safe and legally compliant across key service areas such as Gas Safety, Electrical Inspections (EICR) and Renewable Energy servicing.

You'll learn how compliance processes work, how to support tenants with accessing appointments, and how to keep accurate records in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.

Day‑to‑day, you will:

-Support tracking of homes where access attempts have previously failed

-Assist in prioritising properties at risk of non‑compliance

-Monitor cases approaching escalation thresholds

-Help schedule compliance appointments and record key information accurately

-Log customer contact and outcomes in our systems

-Confirm upcoming appointments with tenants

-Escalate unresolved access issues to the Planning Compliance Officer

-Maintain accurate tenant records and audit trails

-Support efforts to reduce overdue compliance visits across gas, electrical and renewable areas

-Work collaboratively with Planning Teams, Compliance Officers, Housing Officers and operatives

You'll gain practical experience in compliance planning, customer communication, data accuracy, problem‑solving, and teamwork — all while developing strong foundations in business administration.

No previous experience is needed — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Your training

You will study the Level 3 Business Administration with Hereford & Worcester Training Association or a similar provider, attending college in Worcester one day per week and gaining hands‑on experience with us for the rest of the week.

Once you successfully complete your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for permanent roles within Platform Housing Group — and we have a strong track record of developing and retaining our apprentices.

What we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

-GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths

-Good organisation, planning, and ICT skills

-Clear written and verbal communication abilities

-A positive attitude and strong desire to learn

-The ability to work well within a team

-The motivation to work independently, including from home

-Confidence speaking with customers and colleagues

-Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to problem‑solve

You must also live near to or in Worcester, as you will regularly attend our Worcester office.

Working arrangements

-Home‑based with regular travel to Worcester and occasional travel to Birmingham Business Park or other locations as required.

-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

-Free on‑site parking available

-This is a 16-month fixed‑term contract

What you'll get as a Platform Apprentice

-Earn while you learn

-Health and Dental Plan

-NUS Apprentice Card (discounts and perks)

-Fully supported training and development

-Access to wider career opportunities across the organisation

-Opportunities to get involved in events, networks, and community projects
