Join Children Social Care as a Social Worker on a selected payscale and receive our Welcome Bonus of £1000 paid in your first month's salary, together with a generous Retention Bonus of:

- £1000 paid for your first completed year in service
- £2000 paid for your second completed year in service
- £3000 paid for your third completed year in service and every year thereafter

We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a Post Order Special Guardianship Social Worker to join our Kinship Service within Children’s Social Care. Our mission is to empower our children to achieve maximum independence and provide the necessary support to safeguard their well-being. Your expertise is essential to achieving this goal. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

- Providing ongoing advice, information, and, if necessary, referring to specialized support groups.
- Conducting mandatory annual reviews of the support plan and financial support, or sooner if there is a significant change in circumstances.
- To liaise with relevant professionals in supporting the carers in meeting the children’s needs, including referral to Family Group Conference for mediation.
- Sourcing and arranging therapeutic support, including accessing the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF).
- Reviewing and managing discretionary financial allowances for the special guardian.
- Maintain and update tracker for Post Order Team
- Facilitate Special Guardianship Support Group with Merton Council.
- Work in close collaboration with the Assessment team

The objective is to provide a kinship service that offers support and long-term assistance to Sutton Special Guardians, thereby promoting stability for children within their care. This role operates within a dynamic and diverse environment, presenting professional challenges while facilitating the expansion of knowledge and skill sets in the practice of children's social care. Our teams are recognised for their proficiency in developing outstanding care plans that prioritise the needs and voices of service users, integrating input from various professionals, families/carers, and external agencies to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved.

In addition, we would expect the following from all suitable candidates:

- To be registered with Social Work England and hold a degree in Social Care or similar.
- Have experience of working in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Have sound knowledge and ability to deliver social work support to service users and their families.
- Ability to communicate complex social issues clearly to both patients and professionals.
- Ability to plan and coordinate social care plans and aspects of patient discharge.
