We are recruiting a passionate and adaptable SEN Science Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive specialist school in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity to teach Science to learners with a wide range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, communication difficulties and cognitive learning needs.Your role will help pupils develop curiosity, confidence and key scientific understanding within a safe, structured and nurturing setting.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver differentiated Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
* Adapt scientific concepts into accessible, practical learning experiences
* Use strategies such as visual supports, positive reinforcement and de‑escalation techniques
* Maintain a safe and well-organised science environment, ensuring all practical work meets health and safety requirements
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, therapists and families
* Track and record pupil progress; contribute to EHCP reviews, reports and multi‑agency meetings
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and transitions throughout the school day

What We're Looking For

* QTS or QTLS (Science specialism desirable but not essential)
* Experience teaching pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs
* Strong understanding of differentiated learning and trauma‑informed practice
* A nurturing, patient and resilient approach to behaviour
* Ability to break down complex scientific concepts into engaging, accessible steps
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
