We are looking for a friendly, dependable and compassionate Bank PA to provide night-time support for a mum and her son. This role is designed to cover sickness and holiday leave for the regular night team, making it ideal for someone who is flexible and enjoys providing meaningful support in a calm home environment.
During the night shift, your main responsibility will be to help with their bedtime and overnight routine, ensuring they both feel comfortable, safe and supported. This includes assisting with medication administration, personal care, and moving and handling when they are in bed. Your presence will help create a reassuring and supportive environment throughout the night.
The household is well organised, with everything prepared in advance to make the routine as smooth as possible. Medication, pet care for the 3 Pomeranians in the home, and other tasks connected to the night routine will already be set up, so your role will simply be to administer or assist as needed during the night.
There will be periods of rest when support is not required, and a sofa is available in the living room for the PA to use/relax on during these quieter times while remaining nearby should assistance be needed.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is reliable, attentive and kind, and who values the chance to make a positive difference in a family’s daily life.
If you enjoy supporting people in a respectful and friendly home setting, we would love to hear from you.
Duties include:
- Medication prompting/administering
- Personal grooming
- Moving and handling
- Clinical tasks
- Other relevant duties as required
- Transportation
- Companionship
- Dressing / undressing
- Bathroom assistance
- Letting the dogs out and back in when needed, but no major care required for them as everything is always prepared
- Providing assistance during the night when and if required
Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Must be comfortable with pets
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
- There are 3 Pomeranians in the home, so someone who is comfortable with animals is a must.
Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.
Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
