Summary

We are seeking a committed and compassionate GDC‑registered Dentist to join our hospital‑based Community Dental Service team, bringing your skills, professionalism, and enthusiasm to a service that makes a real and lasting difference for the patients who need us most.

This rewarding role involves providing comprehensive treatment and tailored oral health advice to priority and vulnerable groups, often within complex clinical, physical, social, or intellectual contexts, while working in alignment with integrated care pathways and the Service’s contractual commitments. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will support colleagues across the service and contribute to ongoing development alongside the Clinical Lead, Specialists, Service Manager, and wider dental team in areas of Special Care Dentistry or Paediatric Dentistry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about improving access to dental care and delivering meaningful impact for vulnerable populations.

· Deliver comprehensive dental assessment and treatment, including restorative, periodontal, surgical care, and management of patients with complex medical needs.

· Provide high‑quality preventative and clinical dental services across primary, secondary, and community settings, including vulnerable and hard‑to‑reach groups.

· Undertake treatment under General Anaesthesia and Conscious Sedation, including full pre‑operative assessment and post‑operative care.

· Lead and coordinate the efficient daily running of the clinical environment, ensuring safe practice, equipment maintenance, and adherence to Health & Safety standards.

· Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, carers, and external professionals, including organising and leading best‑interest meetings where required.

· Provide specialist advice, clinical supervision, and support to Dental Officers and colleagues, contributing to CPD, audit, and wider clinical governance activities.

· Deliver dental care for adults with special needs, behavioural challenges, phobias, or complex medical conditions, including domiciliary visits and minor oral surgery.

· The post holder will cover 8 sessions per week that will be made up of 1-2 GA’s sessions, 6-7 clinical sessions which may include general practice/domiciliary care/sedation.

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
