An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Junior Sister / Charge Nurse to join our dynamic team on Saxmundham Ward, a 27 bedded medical and respiratory ward. Saxmundham Ward is proud to have been awarded ESNEFT Team of the Year 2024, recognising our commitment to providing excellent patient care, teamwork, and a positive, supportive culture.
We are seeking an individual who will actively support the ward sisters in developing and leading our wonderful nursing team, while promoting a strong culture of multidisciplinary collaboration. You will provide inspirational, visible leadership, be positively welcoming and effective in your approach, and act as a credible role model for staff at all levels.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate well developed communication skills, strong change management and organisational abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You should be compassionate, forward thinking, well organised, and display a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.

• Be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of patient care.
• Perform specialist interventions in line with agreed Trust policies, procedures and guidelines, as part of holistic patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers and visitors.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate patient records.
• Liaise with the multi-professional team regarding the planning and delivery of care, and cohesive discharge planning.
• Inform the Ward Sister of any potential concerns regarding patient care so that timely and appropriate actions can be taken to maintain high standards of care and reduce the likelihood of complaints.
