Summary

Job OverviewAs Plant & Transport Supervisor you will be responsible for the effective running of all areas within Plant & Transport

incl. but not restricted to the Core Plant Fleet & Equipment, Quarry, Landfill and Grounds Maintenance. Whilst you will

be responsible for daily supervision of the P&T workforce you will also be expected to deputise in the absence of the

P&T Manager.

Working closely with the P&T Clerk, supervising the Chargehands and wider P&T workforce you will be required to

deliver the following in line with company policy and values:



Main Dutiies and responsibilities

Supervise and ensure Plant & Transport tasks are delivered to an exceptional standard and on time.

Ensure the operation of all heavy plant and machinery, as required by the customer and client liaising with

them to ensure the appropriate equipment is used for the task.

Collection and delivery of cargo to and from the port to it's destination. Delivery of equipment and vehicles to

the correct location.

Ensure all vehicles and equipment used adhere to local laws and legislation whilst also providing road

transport support to the military in theatre as and when required.

·Supervise the storage of all vehicles and equipment within the Plant & Transport yard and vehicle storage

building.

Control the issue of all Plant equipment and vehicles, keeping an inventory of all equipment.

Ensure the security of all equipment and ensure faults are reported to the Plant & Transport Clerk.

Ensure all PPM's are carried out on time and the paperwork handed back for processing.

Supervise the day to day running of the Landfill Site and ensuring it is kept tidy whilst all Waste Transfer Notes are filled for inspection by the client.

Oversee the collection and emptying of skips produced by Mitie and Sodexo.

Hold an Appointed Person Crane qualification (or be suitably experienced to attend training) to put in place a lifting plan for all crane operations ensuring all lifting operations are carried out in a safe manner.

Train and assess plant operators and drivers to the Falkland Island Government Plant Operator Certification standards.

Supervise the general duties of the Grounds Maintenance team ensuring they carryout all their tasks assigned to them and within contract.

Supervise quarry activities ensuring safe operations within the quarry (training will be provided for the right candidate).

Deliver Toolbox Talks to all departments, ensuring all Health & Safety issues are reported and addressed in a timely manner.

Ensure all works assigned to your areas of responsibility are carried out in accordance with Mitie and MOD policy and processes.

Deputise for the Plant & Transport Manager during periods of absence.

Carry out any other duties as directed by the management team.

Report any issues to the Plant & Transport Manager.

Main Duties

Supervise Plant & Transport, Grounds Maintenance and Landfil site.

Ensure all works handed to the departments are completed and handed in on time

Ensure security of vehicles and equipment.

Train and assess plant operators and drivers to Falkland Island Government standards

Supervise quarry operations.

Secondary Duties

Supervise Plant & Transport Workshops

Ensure vehicles are serviceable and available.

Through effective collaboration with Stores, ensure all parts are readable available.

Report any issues to the Plant & Transport Manager

What we are looking forHold or working towards Appointed Person Crane Qualification.

Hold heavy goods licence C+E (Desirable) C Licence (Essential)

Hold or working towards NVQ level 4 Quarry Operations

Proven knowledge of general Plant & Transport or Construction Industry

A proven leader of a multi-skilled team, supervising and coordinating others.

Ability to work on own iniative or as part of a team.

Basic computer skills, Word, Excel, Outlook.

Previous experience working in the Falkland Islands or working abroad (Desirable)
