Tier 1 Practitioner in Neonatal Intensive Care

(Junior Clinical Fellow/ST1-3 OR Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner)

Applications are invited a colleague to join our team on the Tier 1 rota in Neonatal Intensive Care. This post would be suitable for a resident doctor at ST1-3 / junior clinical fellow level, or for an Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP), to commence from March 2026.

The resident doctor post is for a period of 6 months, potentially extendable up to 2 years by mutual agreement. The ANNP post is offered as a permanent position.

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to receive training and experience in tertiary level neonatal intensive care. The regional NICU at St Michael’s Hospital provides regional tertiary neonatal intensive care for medical patients and supra-regional services for infants with surgical, neurosurgical and cardiac problems. It also acts as the base unit for the regional South West Neonatal Advice and Retrieval (SONAR) team.

This post would be suitable as a stand-alone fellowship or as as secondment or out-of-programme experience. St Michael’s NICU is an exciting and dynamic unit, covering all aspects of neonatal care and has a strong ethos of inclusion and development of our staff.

Applicants should refer to the relevant job description for full details, according to their background as resident doctor or ANNP respectively.
