Summary




To support with clerical and administrative duties in the day to day running of AMU, DVT and our Same Day Emergency Care Clinic.

To be part of a hardworking and efficient multidisciplinary team, acting as aninitialpointof contactforpatients,familiesandexternalteamsvisitingtheward. Assistinanswering telephonecalls,liaisingwith patientsand theirfamilies, keeping diary’s up to date and maintaininguptodateinformationonTrustsystemsandproblemsolving.

INTERVIEW DATE: 9th April 2026

Welcomepatients andvisitorstotheward,answeringappropriatequestionsandprovidingany relevantinformationinasensitivemanner,referringtoqualifiedmembersoftheteamasnecessary.

Undertakeclericalandadministrativedutiesonbehalfoftheward.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.

Liaisewithindividualteammembersandotherdepartmentsasrequired,inamanner that will contributetotheeffectiveandefficientrunningoftheward.

Work within our extremely busy SDEC Clinic and DVT clinic to ensure that notes are created and ready for same day patients & ensure that the diary is up to date. You maybe required to call and liaise with patients about attending certain tests or appointments.

To arrange for the repair of faulty ward equipment. Todeliverposttopatients.Answer the telephone and deal with enquiries in a courteous manner.

Toopenandsortincomingmailanddistribute torelevantpersonnelforaction.

TousethecomputerforinputtingandaccessinggeneralpatientinformationonTrustcomputersystemssuchasEcamis,EPR, Agyle, Electronic Diary andHealthoftheWard.

Toassist withotherdutiesthat mayreasonablyberequired.Toensuresufficientstockofpaperworkandstationarysupplies.Organiseownworkloadtoensurethattheprioritiesof the serviceneedare met.

Liaise with agencies external to the ward e.g. other hospital departments, organising various models oftransport,GPSurgeriesetc.

Communicateappropriatelywithallvisitorstothewardareae.g.relatives,medicalandnursingagencies etc.

Communicateappropriatelywithconfusedand/oraggressiveorwanderingpatients.

Contactbytelephonepatientsandrelativesrelatingtotheirimminentadmissionordischargefromtheward.

Toreporttothe SeniorNurse anycomplaints,commentorrequestbypatientsorvisitors.
