Applicants willandnbsp;enjoy working outdoors, being activeandnbsp;andandnbsp;dealing with people.andnbsp;You will work withandnbsp;and superviseandnbsp;a team orandnbsp;workandnbsp;independently,andnbsp;toandnbsp;provideandnbsp;exceptionalandnbsp;servicesandnbsp;to our residentsandnbsp;and visitors,andnbsp;byandnbsp;completing grounds maintenance and street cleansing tasks across the city.andnbsp;



Theandnbsp;job can be physically demanding,andnbsp;as you carry outandnbsp;a range ofandnbsp;duties, including seasonal workandnbsp;tasks, outdoors,andnbsp;andandnbsp;inandnbsp;all weather conditions.andnbsp;You will completeandnbsp;a range of routine operational tasks requiring the skilled operation of vehicles, powerandnbsp;toolsandnbsp;or equipmentandnbsp;in accordance withandnbsp;work practices to support the provision of front-line services which is aligned to customer need.andnbsp;You willandnbsp;be responsible forandnbsp;undertakingandnbsp;checks to ensure vehicles, tools or equipment are safe to use and properly adjusted prior to operationandnbsp;and ensuringandnbsp;team compliance.andnbsp; Full PPE and training will be providedandnbsp;orandnbsp;facilitated.andnbsp;



Applicantsandnbsp;are required toandnbsp;have aandnbsp;full UK driving licenceandnbsp;andandnbsp;be capable ofandnbsp;operatingandnbsp;vehicles and a variety of power tools and technical equipment, along with carrying out routine maintenance.andnbsp;Good communicationandnbsp;skills are essential, you must have the ability to follow instructions, policies,andnbsp;proceduresandnbsp;and legislation andandnbsp;be able to communicate these to your colleagues.andnbsp;Youandnbsp;willandnbsp;be requiredandnbsp;toandnbsp;develop the skills of your colleagues including mentoring apprentices andandnbsp;new staff.andnbsp;Youandnbsp;mayandnbsp;be requiredandnbsp;toandnbsp;work fromandnbsp;any of the Councilandnbsp;locations, includingandnbsp;Hendon, South Hylton, Houghton Le Spring,andnbsp;Washington,andnbsp;Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardensandnbsp;andandnbsp;Sunderland City Hall.andnbsp;
