Duties of the Service Advisor role:
- Greet customers professionally and establish rapport while representing the dealership
- Clearly explain repair and service processes, ensuring transparency and clarity
- Keep customers informed about repair progress and estimated completion times
- Develop product knowledge through manufacturer-led training to promote services effectively
- Upsell additional services and repairs based on technician recommendations
- Schedule vehicle appointments efficiently and confirm bookings via pre-appointment calls
- Maintain accurate and detailed customer records within the dealership’s systems
- Promote dealership offerings and ensure a high standard of customer service at all times
Requirements for the ideal Service Advisor:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Proven experience in a customer service or service advising role, ideally within the automotive sector
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- An engaging approach to identifying customer needs and suggesting appropriate services
- Demonstrable success in achieving targets and goals
- Valid UK driving licence
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop in the role
