A leading multi‑disciplinary building services consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join their growing London team. Your new role
As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you will support senior engineers in delivering high‑quality electrical design solutions across multiple sectors. You'll be involved in concept design, detailed design, site coordination, and client interaction. This is an opportunity to contribute to complex heritage refurbishments, public infrastructure upgrades, and large mixed‑use schemes while developing toward senior responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing electrical designs, calculations, reports, drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Supporting MEP design packages from feasibility through to site stages.
- Contributing to sustainability‑led engineering solutions.
- Liaising with architects, contractors, and other design disciplines.
- Undertaking site surveys, inspections, and technical coordination.
- Supporting production of technical documentation and quality‑assured deliverables.

You will work across a varied and meaningful project portfolio, including:
Iconic Heritage & Cultural Buildings
Blenheim Palace Orangery refurbishment - complex Grade I listed redevelopment works.
Ely Cathedral Octagon Tower & interior works - highly sensitive heritage engineering.
St Paul's Cathedral Whispering Gallery safety upgrades - intricate MEP interventions in a world‑famous structure.
Major Public & Community Developments
Cosway Street and Parsons North residential schemes forming part of Westminster City Council's major regeneration masterplan.
National Railway Museum - Station Hall redevelopment, upgrading technical systems in a nationally significant transport space.
Large‑Scale, Multi‑Sector Projects
Mixed‑use developments, retail, leisure, commercial fit‑outs and community assets delivered as part of city‑shaping regeneration programmes.
Strategic estates, public buildings, infrastructure and transport upgrades delivered across the UK.
Consultancy contributions to major urban regeneration and public realm improvements, supporting long‑term economic and social value.
This combination gives you exposure to both high‑profile heritage work and large modern developments, offering outstanding technical variety.
What you'll need to succeed
- 2-4 years' experience within a UK building services consultancy.
- Strong understanding of electrical building services design (LV distribution, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, containment, etc.).
- Competent using industry design tools (Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD/Revit).
- A passion for sustainable and low‑carbon engineering solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with design teams and clients.
- Progressing toward IEng or CEng (desirable).
