Hays are seeking a highly analytical and detail-focused Pensions Administrator for our client based in Manchester City Centre. This role is ideal for an ambitious graduate with strong numerical ability, excellent technical skills, and a passion for data accuracy. You will support the administration of pension policies by processing high volumes of information, completing data quality checks, generating reports, and supporting finance functions.The position requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and advanced capability with Excel and data-handling tools.This is a permanent opportunity, fully office-based.


Your new role
The successful candidate will:

  • Accurately process, update, and maintain pensions policyholder data and member records.
  • Validate and input high volumes of customer information with precision and consistency.
  • Assist in the preparation of benefit calculations, quotes, projections, and policy documentation.
  • Ensure all activities meet regulatory, compliance, and internal governance standards.
  • Cleanse large data sets to support administrative processes.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity across multiple systems.
  • Identify data discrepancies and work with internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Create and maintain accurate logs, audit trails, and reporting records.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports for management and stakeholders across the business.
  • Analyse results to identify trends, anomalies, and risks.
  • Support team, actuaries, and other technical colleagues with data requests and calculations.
  • Assist in system testing, process improvement initiatives, and workflow optimisation.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be:

  • A recent graduate in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Business, Data Science, or a related analytical field.
  • Naturally curious, with the ability to interpret and question data.
  • A proactive problemsolver who enjoys working with numbers and complex information.
  • Motivated by accuracy, consistency, and delivering high‑quality outcomes.
  • Strong numerical ability and analytical mindset.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, data cleansing).
  • High level of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage high workloads and maintain performance under pressure.
  • Strong administrative, organisational, and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Interest in pensions, financial services, or regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with data manipulation, reporting tools, or CRM/system databases.
