Summary

The Early Years Practitioner provides high-quality care, supervision, and early education for young children within a Children’s Centre setting. The role involves planning and delivering engaging learning activities, supporting children’s development, and ensuring their health, safety, and wellbeing. The practitioner works collaboratively with colleagues, schools, and external agencies to provide integrated support for children and families, while maintaining accurate records and meeting safeguarding and OFSTED requirements.

Essential Criteria:

Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent.

Experience working with children in an early years environment.

Knowledge of early education principles, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.

Commitment to equality, inclusion, and working with diverse communities.

Strong communication, listening, and organisational skills.

Ability to follow policies and procedures in line with OFSTED standards.

Ability to work flexibly and use resources effectively.

Evidence of continuous professional development and willingness to undertake further training.
