SEND Teaching Assistant
Walsall (accessible via public transport and a short walk for non-drivers)

Contract: Full-time, long-term temp-to-perm (Full Academic Year)
Long Term Futures is seeking to appoint a highly professional, nurturing SEND Teaching Assistant that is looking to take the next step in their career by working within a SEND School.

About the Role
Working closely with class teachers, SENCo, and other professionals, your responsibilities will include but won't be limited to:
- Setting specific goals and expectations to individual children
- Supporting class teachers in delivering positive reinforcement where necessary
- Delivering accurate feedback to other education professionals and parents
- Alongside the class teacher, delivering fantastic, well-structured lessons
- Using areas of the school, such as sensory rooms, to regulate behaviours and emotions
- Encouraging self-reflection where necessary
Ideal candidate profile
- Fantastic knowledge of SEND and the ability to be flexible with different needs
- A solid understanding of the national curriculum
- A nurturing, caring demeanour is essential when building trust with students
- Able to set, and enforce, clear and consistent boundaries with pupils
- Flexibility and resilience are important - No two days are the same!
- Knowledge of safeguarding, and the willingness to undertake further training
