Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary school in Wandsworth on a long-term basis. This role involves supporting children with special educational needs both in and out of the classroom on a 1:1 and group basis, so a caring and patient nature is essential.
The school is within walking distance to a mainline train station and offers opportunities for progression. If you are interested, please apply!
What you'll be doing
- Supporting children with SEND so they can access learning and feel confident at school.
- Providing personal care when needed (toileting, feeding, or mobility support).
- Working closely with the class teacher to adapt activities and resources to suit individual needs.
- Encouraging independence, social skills, and self-esteem.
- Building trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
What we're looking for
- Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting, or in a similar care focused role.
- Someone who is flexible and is happy to work across a range of year groups.
- A patient, empathetic, and reliable approach to both learning support and personal care.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a close-knit team.
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their best every day.
