TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEND school, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This welcoming and supportive setting is centred on pupils’ development, with a strong focus on helping students make progress academically as well as developing their emotional, social and behavioural skills in a positive and nurturing environment.

The school is seeking a passionate team player to join their team. This role offers the opportunity for a temp-to-perm placement following the interview process, for the right SEND Teaching Assistant / LSA. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and a proactive approach to the role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs, and have a positive impact on the wider school community.

The position will involve working with students across a range of Key Stages, supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs including Autism / ASD, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently and support students in a calm and structured manner is essential.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant / LSA will have:

· Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
· Experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
· Level 2 or Level 3 CACHE qualification or equivalent (desirable)
· Team-Teach or MAPA training (desirable)
