- Preparing high‑quality reports, including survey schedules, Tree Constraints and Opportunities Plans, Management Plans, Impact Assessments and Method Statements.
- Liaising with local authorities to identify tree protections such as TPOs and Conservation Areas.
- Supervising site works and providing technical arboricultural advice to clients.
- Preparing fee proposals and competitive tenders.
- Conducting quality assurance checks on reports and plans.
- Supporting natural capital assessments in relation to arboriculture.
The role is fully flexible and hybrid, allowing you to shape when and how you work to suit your lifestyle, your projects and your team. For the right candidate, they are open to reduced or compressed hours, flexible start/finish times, or a deferred start date.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have:
- A Level 3 or 4 arboriculture qualification.
- Demonstrable experience delivering BS 5837 surveys and producing associated reports.
- Strong tree identification skills including pests, diseases and fungi, and an understanding of how these influence risk and longevity.
- Experience in quality assurance and producing consistently high‑quality outputs.
- Experience of line management, staff development or mentoring.
- A full UK driving licence.
You should also be proactive, adaptable, confident engaging with clients, and keen to help shape a growing arboricultural team within a multidisciplinary environment.
What you'll get in return
- Competitive salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
- Fully flexible hybrid working designed around you.
- Health insurance
- Pension plan
- Holiday allowance
- Flexible benefits: for e.g. cycle to work, volunteer days and more
- Options for reduced/compressed hours or flexible start/finish times.
- Support for professional development and a clearly defined career pathway.
- Opportunities to work on diverse and high‑profile projects across multiple sectors.
- A collaborative, supportive working culture focused on wellbeing and work-life balance.
- The chance to help build and grow a developing arboricultural service within a respected national environmental team.
