Summary

Orchard husbandry. As an apple orchard husbandry worker, you need to be physically fit, be able to work outside in most weather conditions, work on all jobs relating to working on an apple farm - pruning, disease prevention, weeding, irrigation, general husbandry of communal areas. You will need to be physically capable of doing this all day (approx 8). This is a job equally available to men and women of all ages 16+ but it is dependent upon physical ability to do the job carefully, consistently and productively. Rates of pay are the NMW as a minimum and include holiday pay and may also include piecework or bonuses for quality, productivity and completion of harvest. All work requires you to work in a team, as a team. We mostly work 6 days a week in harvest (approx 48 hours) and the work can be and is always weather dependent. We try not to work in heavy rain unless we have to. You need to have a full driving licence. It is advantageous if you have previous apple pruning experience.
