Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities and ensure the efficient sourcing of goods and supplies. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating purchasing agreements, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and manage purchasing activities for goods and supplies.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality products and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply agreements with suppliers and wholesalers.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate purchasing activities to maintain adequate inventory.
- Analyse purchasing data and market trends to improve procurement strategies.
- Work closely with management to forecast demand and manage supply requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and prepare procurement reports for management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Professional training or certification in procurement or supply chain management is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Experience working with suppliers, wholesalers, or retail distribution networks.
- Experience managing inventory levels and procurement processes.
Skills
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
