Summary
Woodgrow Horticulture Ltd is currently looking to recruit a General & Operations Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the business along with formulating strategies to enhance business performance.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and pro-active candidate with excellent organisational skills, project management acumen and interpersonal skills.
Strong numeracy, literacy and computer skills are a must.
The role requires a high level of mental dexterity and the ability to multi-task during busier periods.
The role is at times driven by tight deadlines, so the ability to rise to the challenge and execute quality work is key.
Woodgrow Horticulture operates between 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
Occasional Saturday working (8am to 1pm) will be required on a rota basis once appropriate training has been completed.
Initial 6 month contract with the possibility of an extension.
The role will be multifaceted but will focus on these wide-ranging aspects:-
• First point of contact for dealing with e-mails and phone calls
• Convert customer enquiries into firm orders
• Operate point of sale till system and administrate Sage accounts software
• Book customer deliveries into the diary in the most efficient manner
• Ensure staff are kept busy and motivated
• Identify and implement staff training where necessary
• Timely ordering of stock ensuring best value for money
• Build rapport and best working relationship with suppliers
• Update price lists ensuring company margins and profitability is maintained and enhanced
• Research and recommend potential new products and suppliers
• Ability to make decisions without Director input
• Update and implement company policies and procedures
• Point of contact for HR related issues
• Perform staff 1 to 1’s and appraisals
• Submit monthly wage figures
• Approve and record staff holidays
• Organise and lead regular team meetings
• Support the Marketing Lead to pro-actively seek and implement new sales strategies
