Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs?

We are seeking dedicated and caring Assistant Practitioner to join our Children’s Neurodevelopmental Service. In this role, you will play a vital part in gathering information to support comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people, helping to inform their care and support plans.

There are 2x full-time posts available, however, the service will consider part-time with a minimum of 30 hours per week. You will be based in Norwich or King's Lynn with an expectation to travel across Central and West Norfolk areas in order to carry out clinic and school-based contacts.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months, or secondment with line manager agreement. Please ensure agreement is obtained before submitting an application.

We are looking for two full-time Assistant Practitioners with proven experience of working with children, particularly those with autism and ADHD, along with knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions and their impact on young people's development.

The postholder will be compassionate, proactive, and detail-orientated, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with children, young people and families.

Good understanding of the use of information technology is essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. This includes Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Specialist Nurses, in order to carry out quality neurodevelopmental assessments on young people of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supporting assessments by collecting developmental information from children, families, and other professionals often via telephone or video call.

- Engage with children and young people in a sensitive and age-appropriate manner.

- Engage with parents and carers in a caring and sensitive manner.

- Make reasonable adjustments to appointments where needed.

- Assist with the coordination of assessments and ensuring a smooth process.

- Contribute to the development of tailored support strategies based on collected information.

- Carry out Qb Test assessments to inform ADHD assessments (training provided).
