GCIL.MM/IW/LJ/1.26 1.5hrs Personal Assistant

MM is a 65-year-old, well-educated woman living In the Glasgow Southside area of the city. MM has communication and mobility limitations and benefits from patient, consistent support and assistance. She is chatty, sociable and enjoys good humour, making her lovely company for someone who appreciates a friendly conversation.
MM is active and community minded, with regular involvement in church, meeting friends and attending local activities. Creative interests are important to her, and she enjoys art and singing, with support to help her stay focused and engaged in the creative activities that she enjoys.
As MM Personal Assistant you will provide support with communication needs, taking time to understand her style and helping MM to express herself comfortably. You will be required to support MM with personal care needs in line with her cultural requests. You will also create space for conversations about hobbies and interests that are meaningful to her.
The ideal candidate would be kind, patient and adaptable. MM is looking for someone who understands or is willing to learn about Persian culture, a gentle curiosity and respect for her background will help her to feel comfortable and understood. It would also be someone who enjoys chatting, shares the same humour and can offer companionship as well as practical support.
It is important that as MM Personal Assistant you are good listener who is punctual, reliable and can communicate clearly. It is also important that MM can relate to you and that you can build a good relationship with each other.
This role is for 1.5 hours per week at the rate of £13.60 per hour. The specific day will be discussed and agreed at interview. Area G42
