Mentors / Teaching Assistants (SEN) - Full Time - Start ASAPLocation: Dudley (DY1 area) Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Contract: Long‑term, full‑time Start date: ASAP Positions available: 2A specialist secondary setting in the Dudley (DY1) area is looking to appoint two full‑time Mentors/Teaching Assistants to join their team immediately. The school is well regarded for its nurturing ethos, strong pastoral structure, and commitment to helping every learner thrive.About the SchoolThis established specialist setting supports students aged 11-16 with a range of Special Educational Needs, including:
- Autism (ASC)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

- Delivering 1:1 and small‑group support
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and remain engaged
- Assisting with learning activities in class
- Providing encouragement, structure, and consistency
- Building trusted relationships
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral leads, and SEN specialists
Long‑Term Roles With a Route to PermanentThese roles are long‑term, with the school planning to advertise permanent positions later in the year. As a long‑term member of staff, you will be notified first when permanent roles are released, offering a clear pathway into a permanent position should you wish to stay.The Type of Candidates the School Is Looking ForThe school is particularly interested in candidates who:
- Have experience with SEN pupils (ASC, SEMH, MLD, behaviour support)

This background is highly valued and transfers extremely well into this school environment.Day‑to‑Day Staff Also NeededIn addition to the long‑term roles, we are also recruiting Day‑to‑Day Teaching Assistants to support the school with short‑term absences, daily cover and additional staffing needs.I Also Work With a Range of Special Schools Across DudleyAlongside this school, I am currently supporting a wide variety of specialist SEN settings across Dudley and the surrounding areas, including:
- Autism‑specific schools
- SEMH settings and behaviour provisions
