Summary
We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, compassionate, hardworking and keenly motivated to join our well established and innovative occupational therapy team, within the occupational therapy department at Guild Lodge.
You will be part of a team working alongside service users and staff to promote the importance of engagement and activity on our wards.
As a Recovery Worker being based and working within a secure environment your role will focus on developing good working relationships with service users – identifying their interests and supporting their recovery through activity within the secure services. Predictable structure routine, social opportunities as well as the protective factors of activity play an integral part of a service user’s journey within Guild Lodge.
Whilst the focus of the role will be ward based we also have access to a range of excellent environments and opportunities for services users – including a large Therapeutic Resources Centre & Sports Hall (that includes pottery, art rooms, and library, kitchen and gym/sport facilities) as well as the Tarnbrook Vocational Unit (this has metal and woodwork as well as silversmithing, horticulture and IT resources). We also access and use community facilities.
We always support and encourage our staff through personal development and appraisal and value the importance of regular supervision. This is an excellent chance to gain a range of really good skills in a fantastic environment!
LSCFT values diversity and inclusion, recognising that talent from varied backgrounds creates a flexible, creative, and effective workforce. We actively challenge discrimination and welcome applications from all, regardless of age, disability (including those with experience of accessing or caring for someone who has accessed mental health or learning disability services), ethnicity, gender, religion, belief, or sexual orientation.
Our aim is to reflect the communities we serve, so we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups. If you’d like to discuss your application, please ask.
We also welcome individuals with lived experience relevant to the role or service area, as your insight brings authenticity to our services.
LSCFT support flexible working, we believe that a positive work/life balance benefits NHS employees through improved health and wellbeing. We would consider working patterns such as term time, part time, compressed hours and flexi-time.
The wellbeing of our people is at the heart of everything we do. We offer a wide range of resources, tools and support to help you thrive both in and out of work.
