Summary

Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments.

A little about myself:
I am a vibrant young girl with Autism and Global Developmental Delay. I am verbal, full of energy, and absolutely love animals! My favourite things include visiting farms, exploring parks, playing with sticker books, and sharing my beautiful smile that lights up every room. I’m looking for a kind, patient, and experienced Personal Assistant to help me explore the world safely during school holidays. If you have experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and you are passionate about making a difference, I would love to meet you!

Driver required with own car.

Female preferred.

Hours of work:

• Half-term holidays only – flexible days and hours
• 8 hours per week for 5 weeks during: February, Easter, May and October half terms.
• 10 hours per week for 8 weeks during Summer and Christmas half terms.

Rate of pay.
£13.13

Essential:
I need you to:
• Ensure I am safe at all times
• Support me with toileting and handwashing
• Have experience of working with someone with ASD
• Be kind and compassionate, and patient when I am communicating with you.

Desirable
It would be great if:
• You can support me to access the community safely and confidently
• You are someone who understands sensory needs and can help me regulate
• You are a fun, engaging companion who enjoys outdoor adventures and creative play

I’d like support with
• Washing and dressing
• Using the toilet/personal care
• Basic care needs.

I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.

Concerning the position

A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
