enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our New Product Development (NPD) team in Wynyard, Middlesbrough.
Job Title: NPD Kitchen Assistant
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00, Friday finish at 16:00
Location: Compleat Food Group, Wellington House, Wynyard Avenue, Billingham, TS22 5TB
Salary: £28 800 per annum

About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced chefs and food professionals, supporting the creation and
preparation of exciting food products while helping keep our kitchen running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. As a key member of
the kitchen team, you’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly day-to-day by:
* Assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks
* Weighing ingredients and preparing raw materials
* Organising preparation areas and workstations
* Keeping all kitchen, preparation, and storage areas clean, organised, and hygienic
* Following strict food safety and hygiene standards
* Ensuring waste disposal areas remain clean and well managed
* Completing HACCP records including temperature checks and cleaning schedules
* Ensuring food is correctly labelled, stored, and handled according to food safety regulations
* Monitoring ingredient levels across dry, chilled, and frozen storage
* Managing stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out)
* Ordering stock when required to maintain supply
* Receiving deliveries and ensuring products are checked and stored correctly

Key Skills & Competencies
* Food safety and hygiene awareness
* Strong organisation and attention to detail
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Effective time management
* Basic knowledge of food hygiene and food safety standards
* Understanding of HACCP procedures and safe food handling
* Experience in a kitchen, catering, or food production environment is desirable but not essential
