As Resident Medical Officer, you'll play a crucial role providing on call cover for Cygnet Hospital Sherwood .

Main duties of the job

The RMO is the Doctor onsite covering on calls between 5pm and 9am on weekdays and 9am -9am weekend shifts. Generally the RMO will work on a rota of 4 days on / 3 days off every week.

Cygnet Hospital Sherwood is our new state-of-the-art PICU and Acute hospital for men, in Nottinghamshire. The service will be opening in early 2024. The service will feature three wards, including a 12 bed PICU ward and two 16 bed acute wards.

Cygnet Hospital Sherwood has a full multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and supports the acute needs of adults requiring rapid access to mental health services, including those who may need an intensive care environment.

We are looking for someone who is...

  • Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
  • An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement, the ability to manage risk & know when to ask for help
  • Preferably experienced in Psychiatry
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
  • Committed to continued professional development
