About the Role
Bhuku Ltd is seeking a motivated and supportive Progress Coach to work with learners at HMP Askham Grange.
The Progress Coach will support prisoners to build confidence, develop practical life skills and progress towards education, training and employment opportunities. The role focuses on encouraging engagement, helping learners identify goals and supporting them to overcome barriers that may prevent them from progressing.
You will work closely with learners who may have previously disengaged from education or employment and help them rebuild confidence in their abilities while preparing for successful resettlement.

Key Responsibilities
The Progress Coach will be responsible for:
• Supporting prisoners to identify personal, educational and employment goals
• Delivering 1:1 coaching and small group sessions
• Helping learners develop confidence, motivation and problem-solving skills
• Supporting prisoners to overcome barriers to learning and employment
• Encouraging engagement with education, training and employment opportunities
• Working collaboratively with prison education teams and support staff
• Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records
• Contributing to learner progression into education, training or employment pathways.

Essential Requirements
• Experience supporting adults in education, mentoring, coaching or personal development roles
• Ability to motivate and engage individuals who may lack confidence
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to deliver both 1:1 coaching and group sessions
• Organised and able to maintain learner records and progress tracking
• Ability to work within a secure prison environment
• Willingness to complete prison security vetting.

• Experience working within prison education or rehabilitation programmes
• Knowledge of employment pathways, mentoring or coaching approaches
• Experience supporting individuals with additional learning needs or barriers to education
• Teaching or coaching qualifications.
