We are seeking a dynamic Engagement Outreach Facilitator to deliver a non-accredited ESW Engagement Outreach Service at HMP Lancaster Farms.

About the Role
This is not a traditional classroom teaching role.
The Engagement Outreach Facilitator will work across prison wings, workshops and activity areas to re-engage prisoners who are not currently participating in Education, Skills and Work (ESW).
You will:
Build trusted relationships with disengaged learners
Deliver informal engagement sessions and confidence-building activities
Support neurodiverse learners and those with complex needs
Coordinate and support peer mentors
Reduce barriers to education and employment participation
Work closely with the prison’s ESW and reducing reoffending teams
Maintain accurate engagement records and progress reports
Provide weekly and monthly reports to prison management
The role requires a proactive, relational approach rather than formal teaching delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver 8 engagement sessions per week across wings and activity areas
Identify and engage learners who are not participating in ESW
Facilitate small-group and one-to-one outreach interventions
Support peer mentors and help structure their role
Record attendance, engagement levels and progression outcomes
Attend prison meetings as required
Maintain compliance with prison policies and security procedures
Contribute to monthly performance reporting

About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with vulnerable or disengaged adults
Understands trauma-informed and neurodivergent-friendly approaches
Can build rapport quickly and confidently
Is calm, professional and resilient
Has experience in custodial, youth justice, community outreach or similar settings (desirable)
Is confident working independently within a structured framework
You must be organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple relationships across a busy custodial environment.

Ability to pass HMPPS security clearance
Willingness to undertake key training
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
