Summary

Areyou an experienced clinician looking for a new challenge and the opportunity lead the delivery of psychological care to adults with adults with complex mental health problems in Milton Keynes ?

Our multi-disciplinary, clinician-lead team is looking for applications from highly motivated and enthusiastic Applied Psychologists with experience in community based secondary mental health care settings, who are committed to delivering specialist, multi-disciplinary, patient-focused care and providing person-centred treatments.

This is a unique opportunity to shape adult mental health services in Milton Keynes. You will clinically lead the therapies pathway with the Hub, supporting others to develop and perform clinical duties to the best of their ability. The pathway uses a stepped care approach and you will be instrumental in managing waiting lists, ensuring delivery of evidence based high quality care achieving good outcomes within the context of a challenging healthcare system. You will lead on trauma-informed care across the Hub, and contribute to CPD, service development, policy-making and clinical decision-making. You will have a small caseload and will support a team of APs, CAPs, art therapists, MBT and DBT therapists, clinical and counselling psychologists.

As part of the Hub senior management team, you will support others manage risk, enhance clinical skills and contain organisational stress.

You will need good interpersonal skills, motivation to improve outcomes for our service users and excellent clinical skills. You will need to collaborate with service users to hear and integrate their experiences of services into service provision. You will need good leadership skills and be able to support people to develop their clinical learning, adapting to staff needs. You will be able to draw on several therapeutic models and be used to complex presentations.

· To lead, manage and plan the delivery of a highly specialist psychology and psychotherapy service to MKMHH and personally provide expert clinical input.

· To be responsible to the Professional Lead for Psychological Therapies for the monitoring and implementation of professional standards in the practice of applied psychology and psychotherapy in the MKMHH and for the systematic and effective provision of professional supervision.

· To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.

· To ensure the conduct of research, service evaluation and audits relevant to adult mental health and the Trust/specialty research agenda

· To be responsible for the good clinical governance, quality and appropriateness of the work of psychologists and psychotherapists in the MKMHH.

· To work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures, and interpret these and be responsible for their implement ion within the service area of responsibility.
